Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar also known as "city of Lakes ". The mesmerizing city is surrounded by Aravali Range which separates it from the Thar desert.
There are five major lakes named as fateh sagar lake, Lake pichhola, doodh talai , swaroop Sagar lake, Rangsagar.
I visited Udaipur Rajasthan in the month of September 2018 , believe me I feel in love at the first sight with this city. This city spell bound on me. I was so fascinated to be a part of this beautiful city.
Visiting Udaipur was always on my bucket list as the city is truly a traveller paradise. If you will visit Udaipur , you are going to experience the royalty of Rajasthan.

1) By Trains -

Best time to visit -
Summers are brutally hot in Udaipur. The best season to visit is between September - March.
If you love monsoons , it is the best place to visit. You can also visit Mewar festival is held during March in Udaipur.

1) Lake Pichhola -
Lake Pichhola is one of the most beautiful lakes of Rajasthan.
How to enjoy this lake in the best way? Take a sunset boat ride and you will undoubtedly fall in love with this city.
Boat ride Ticket Prices -
Regular boat ride ranges between 150-300 Rs.
Donot buy tickets from the city palace they charge around 800-1000Rs. Purchase tickets from the bank of the lake , they charge way cheaper and you will be able to get a better deal on this.

This temple is Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is a peaceful place to be. Anyone who visits here adores the beautiful structure of the temple made by hand carvings and huge stones! It is amazing to see such ancient architecture well preserved till date. One should definitely not miss the "Aarti" performed at this temple.

4) Sajjangarh Fort -
Also known as Monsoon palace offers a panoramic view of the city lakes , palaces and the whole city . The fort is not so well maintained but people visit here to watch the beauty of aravali hills and the mesmerizing Sunset.

How to Reach -
Monsoon palace is located on outskirts of Udaipur , you can hire a taxi/auto-rickshaw or jeep to reach the hill top gate. The hired auto or car is only allowed till the gate then you have to purchase a ticket for the Jeep ride till the fort. Only personal scooty/Bikes are allowed till the fort.

5) GanGaur Ghat-
In early morning you will find the
people doing the daily rituals.
I am glad I visited in the evening .
Evenings are adorned with twinkling of lights.
The entry is free in every ghats.
6) Dharohar Folk Dance Show -
Bagore ki haveli is a museum during the day time and hosts Dharohar Rajasthani folk dance show during the evening.

The introduction of the show began with beating of the drum and beautiful welcoming Song kesariya Balam.
We Saw -
1) The Charging Dance -
The dancers dances with ignited brass pots on their heads.
2) The Terha Taal Dance -
In this dance form , The dancers play 13 different types of manjiras tied on their hands and legs.
3) The Ghumar Dance-
A happy dance , where the dancers dance in rhythmic circles to the music.
4) The Rajasthani Puppet Show -
The show was hugely popular , specially for the kids. They loved the show.
5) The Bhavai Dance -
The dancers dances with earthen pots on their head.

It is a popular tourist place in Udaipur.
